Magee Dairy

Magee Dairy of Cynthiana is the last operating Grade A dairy farm in Harrison County. They have sold milk commercially for 70 years.

After serving in the Marine Corps, Edward Magee Jr. married Sarah Barnes 1950 and wanted to start a dairy farm. They purchased a few cows and milked them by hand and shipped a few cans to a local cheese maker.

Through the years, they have sold milk through Kentucky Cardinal Cheese Co., Cudahy Cheese Co., Milk Marketing Inc., and Dairy Farmers of America. Milk quality has always been a priority over the years. The farm has achieved some of the highest quality awards.

The Magee’s children and grandchildren are still involved in the farm. In addition to milking cows, they now enjoy raising beef cattle, hogs, sheep, and tobacco.
